History of curling
|
The history of the game is and
always will be, vague at best.
Both Scots and Continental
Europeans claim to be behind
the origin of the game. Over
time, the mists of time clouded
the history of the game. What
can be certain is that by the
18th century, Curling had
become a common Scottish sport.

Curling is played on a sheet
of ice with teams of four. The
positions are skip, vice,
second and lead. Skip calls
shots, vice helps with this
and the second and lead throw
rocks and sweep. The skip
will only sweep rocks in the
house and tell others when to
sweep.

Kincardine Curling Club
|
In our curling club, there
are many different leagues. I
am a member of the junior
curlers. Even though our numbers
are waning, we are still quite
alive. There are fun leagues,
and competitive leagues. Many
tournaments are held here, and
I am even a member of my school
team. All sections on this
page will eventually be expanded.
